Grupo Raíz tribute by Marci Manríquez y Amig@s
De Colores
Los Peludos

This year, we celebrate 35 years of struggle through music by showcasing two exciting up-and-coming bands from San Francisco and Los Angeles as well three groups that were part of the very first Encuentro back in 1982.

To mark this milestone, we are reuniting Latin American folk ensembles De Colores and Los Peludos; PLUS, Marci Manríquez will pay tribute to the life and work of her father Rafael Manriquez by assembling a talented group of musicians who will celebrate the music of Grupo Raíz. We will close out the celebration with the renowned SoCal Tropical Afro Latin combo, Quitapenas; as well as local powerhouse Soltrón, a 10-member band that blends Latin-jazz, Chicano rock, and samba batucada with strains of hip-hop and electronic music.
