The final exhibition of 2016 was timed to coordinate with the 35th Annual Encuentro del Canto Popular concert, which was held on Dec.11 at The Chapel—the same Mission District venue that hosted the very first Encuentro in 1982. Commemorating three and a half decades of producing Encuentro, the show featured a collection of spectacular hand-painted wall-size backdrops designed by Juan R. Fuentes that have adorned the stages of past Encuentros.
