Ted Pushinsky Community Memorial

Saturday, Feb. 24 • 3 p.m. – 6p.m.
Acción Latina’s Juan R. Fuentes Gallery
2958 24th Street, San Francisco

We invite you to celebrate with us a beloved friend, family man and photographer. Mr. Pushinky’s work documenting the Mission District and San Francisco over the last 30 years is unique and unparalleled. Through his photography career he gave San Francisco, and the Mission District in particular, a nuanced vision of itself. He showed how complicated we are, documenting moments of violence and bravado alongside images of intimacy, tenderness, spirituality and warmth.

In Ted’s work, we are reminded that we don’t glimpse the soul of San Francisco by looking at a postcard image of the Golden Gate Bridge. We can only really see it through the eyes of a gifted and complex member of our community such as Ted. We see the soul of San Francisco in Ted’s work. That is his legacy.

This will also be your last chance to view Ted’s exquisite tribute to San Francisco in his exhibition “Local Stories.” Please join family and friends to admire Ted’s work, share some memories, contribute to a community altar, and honor the life of a great man.

“Local Stories: Photos of San Francisco” by Ted Pushinsky will be on display through Feb 24th at the Juan R. Fuentes Gallery at Accion Latina. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 11 a.m. through 5 p.m.
