Dr. Raúl Coronado will discuss the connotation of the terms “pueblo” (often translated as people), “pueblos” (towns) and “nación” (nation). He will describe how these terms were used in the early 1800s and how the political concept of “pueblo” continues to circulate today. A videographer will be at Dr. Coronado’s presentation to interview attendees about their use of the word “pueblo.” These short interviews will be posted to the Acción Latina website. An interactive function will allow people who did not attend the talk to post their reflections on the word “pueblo.”
