Para el Proyecto de Artes de la Misión (MAPP) del mes de Agosto, hemos preparado algo diferente y lo que probablemente será nuestro mejor programa todavía: Un triple evento que consiste en una actuación exclusiva de la obra original de teatro Who Is Kenneth Harding por dramaturgo Bianca Catalan, un taller especial de serigrafía por Suavecita Press, y una concierto acústico por la banda The Genie.

 

Acerca del espectáculo teatral
Derivado de las controversias que rodean la violencia entre los oficiales y la juventud urbana, Who Is Kenneth Harding busca descubrir nuestros parcialidades hacia las muertes que ocurren en las comunidades de bajos ingresos. Bianca Catalán ha trabajado en diversos ámbitos artísticos y ha escrito y realizado producciones a través de Brava! Theatre for Women in the Arts y en otras partes en las costas del este y del oeste.

Acerca del taller de serigrafía
Suavecita press es una colectiva de grabadores que permite a las mujeres de color crear arte en un campo poco conocido por el público en general y dominado por hombres. El grabado históricamente ha tenido el poder de producir en masa y comunicarse con el público; Ha permitido la producción de literatura, periódicos, carteles, prendas de vestir y propaganda, y revoluciones encendidas. Suavecita Press quiere compartir este potente medio con mujeres que quisieran aprender el arte.

Acerca del concierto
Genie Unplugged es un proyecto acústico por el innovador de bucle en vivo The Genie. Combinando aspectos del jazz y las técnicas flamencas, Genie Unplugged trae a colación profundas interpretaciones inspiradoras de canciones inspiradoras de artistas icónicos.
