Acompáñanos para este evento literario. El periódico El Tecolote presenta una lectura pública de “Inestable en la Misión” por Adriana Camarena con diapositivas acompañantes.

“Inestable en la Misión” es un proyecto colaborativo continuo entre el periódico El Tecolote y la artista, activista comunitaria, y residente de la Misión Adriana Camarena. Como serie de ensayos literarios no ficción por Camarena publicados periódicamente como suplementos en El Tecolote hasta enero de 2019, Instable combina retratos escritos y visuales de los residentes tradicionales de clase trabajadora y pobres del distrito de la Misión para explorar las identidades e historias latinas. Este proyecto colaborativo es apoyado por Creative Work Fund.  

Inestable no. 1  “Buscando a Indio en la Misión” e Inestable no. 2 “Enhebrando la Vida de un Maya” se imprimieron y fueron publicadas en línea para nuestras ediciones del 5 de octubre y del 2 de noviembre de El Tecolote. Adriana Camarena es mexicana de México, complicada por una educación en los Estados Unidos, Uruguay y México. Se convirtió en residente del Distrito de la Misión de San Francisco en 2008. Desde que llegó a la Misión, Adriana comenzó a recopilar historias fronterizas, cruces de líneas e identidades superpuestas contadas por los residentes para proporcionar una imagen en capas de este barrio tradicionalmente inmigrante de clase trabajadora en California.
